Verdict. The only one here that stores your vault in an open format other software can also read, which means a bad year for the developer is not a bad year for your passwords.
Best for. Someone who wants a vault they could still open in ten years, with or without this app.
Dealbreaker. Syncing is the running complaint — fifteen of the last two hundred reviews say it fails, mostly over Dropbox — and reviewers say opening a local copy now pushes you toward paid cloud storage.

Verdict. The healthiest app in this category by the numbers — the highest rating here, and not one review in the recent record reporting it broken or losing anything.
Best for. Someone who keeps one vault across an iPhone and an Android phone and needs it to open on both.
Dealbreaker. Syncing runs through your own Dropbox or Google Drive rather than iCloud, so the vault sits in a third place you also have to keep secure — and the recent review record is thin enough that there is less evidence here than for the others.
